| The new Fagg’s Mitre 10 Home and Trade complex in North Geelong has officially opened. Over the past 18 months, the three acre site in
Anakie Road has undergone a complete transformation. The result is a leading edge retail hardware, garden and timber centre with a greatly
expanded range and many appealing features.

Deputy Geelong Mayor, Councillor, David Saunderson, officially opened the 5,600 sq m Mitre 10 complex on October 6 at a function attended
by approximately100 people.
The new complex represents an investment of over $5 million for Fagg Bros, a family owned and operated business which has been in trading
in Geelong since 1854. The business also operates another large Mitre 10 Home and Trade complex in South Geelong.
The range at new Fagg’s Mitre 10 North Geelong store has been greatly expanded and includes a new paint centre. The plant nursery and
garden centre is one of the best in Geelong, and the plants are watered by rainwater recycled from the building’s roof through an 80,000
litre underground tank.

The adjoining Fagg’s Timber centre is a large, drive-thru facility for both tradespeople and DIYers. This includes a feature door and
timber display centre, a cut to measure and machining facility as well as a huge range of timber and building materials.
The complex employs 16 full-time staff and a further 20 part time. A Grand Opening promotion was held on the following weekend, with over
2,700 customer transactions. There were many activities across the weekend, specials and a storewide discount. Part of the site
re-development was the building a new shop for the existing food store and café on the site and the construction of two more shops, one of
which is now a Cellarbrations liquor store.
Directors, Barry and Keith Fagg, are very pleased with the new complex which they believe brings a whole new standard to home improvement
retailing to the northern part of Geelong.
