HAV Golf Day

The Hardware Association of Victoria (HAV) staged its annual Corporate Golf Day at The Yarra Yarra Golf Club on April 18. HAV members, hardware suppliers and key industry participants enjoyed a gloriously sunny day of Ambrose play on one of Melbourne’s finest sand belt golf courses.

The day’s play was followed by a gourmet barbecue dinner in the Heritage-listed clubhouse, during which professional golfer Glenn Joyner regaled guests with tales from his playing days with the likes of Aussie greats, Greg Norman and Ian Baker-Finch, as the four years he spent rooming with fellow US college circuit rookie, Colin Montgomerie. Danks recruited well to field teams that were able to take two podiums spots, while Steve Pendrey’s (pictured) length and accuracy off the tee enabled him to take home two Nearest the Pin awards and contributed towards a strong showing from the Häfele Australia team. Unfortunately, neither Steve nor any of the other 100 players were able to win the BMW on offer for a hole in one.

HAV was able to stage the event with help from major sponsors Danks, Mitre 10, Australian Hardware Journal, Dulux, Loscam and A Team Merchandising, as well as hole sponsors Strikeforce, Häfele, Bostik, Otter and Fielders.
