Tradelink boasts new showroom in Bundaberg
Store name: Tradelink Bundaberg
Branch Manager: Damien Nunn
Buying group: Tradelink
The new generation Tradelink Bundaberg branch is not only bigger than the previous store, but is also in a more prominent location than the former site. With 150 square metres of open plan showroom space, the centre provides the most comprehensive range of plumbing products with a level of customer service that is unprecedented, according to Branch Manager Damien Nunn.
Newly designed show room
As one of the country’s foremost suppliers to the plumbing trade, Tradelink Bundaberg’s newly constructed showroom was specifically designed around enhancing the customer experience, particularly by integrating inspirational, lifestyle displays with product selection areas.
Boasting both a trade and professional background, Mr Nunn said the new building is just over 1,100 square metres, including the trade area, showroom and warehouse, with the yard additional to this. The new store is also set up in a new, up and coming industrial/commercial area.
“The showroom has been specifically designed to enhance customer experience by integrating inspirational lifestyle displays with product selection areas. Product selection areas grouped by product – showers, basins, tapware, accessories – enable both trade and consumers to compare like with like and select the most suitable product for their project. The displays also ensure customers can clearly see the very latest in both design and technology,” he said.
Mr Nunn said Tradelink’s product selection process and customer promise is second to none.
“We range only those products that are quality assured and carry supplier warranties, so customers can wander the showroom confident they are only seeing the most well-known, reputable brands,” he said.
Mr Nunn said Tradelink differentiates itself via six key promises that underpin a wide-ranging commitment to raising the bar on customer service.
“We also have a policy with the tradies whereby we guarantee we will have in stock each one of our 500 ‘Everyday Essential’ products – if not we will make a $50 credit to the tradie’s account. We have the same promise for order pick-ups which will be ready within 30 minutes of the tradie making the order. So the new Bundaberg Tradelink showroom is a win win for both the tradie and consumer. Sales are up almost 10 per cent since we opened the new branch,” Mr Nunn said.
Tradelink Bundaberg’s customer base makes up around 80 per cent trade and 20 per cent retail, with the store’s selling range primarily drainage and fit offs.
Looking into the next 12 months
Over the next 12 months, Mr Nunn said Tradelink will be using a range of traditional and online channels to promote the group and grow market share, including local advertising, social media and a new customer loyalty program.
Tradelink also has a new general manager, Alan Ball, who arrived from the UK in November last year and has big plans in place for Tradelink. The extensive plans include opening 20 branches a year for the next two to three years and significantly adding to the 210 centres it already boasts around the country.
“Tradelink’s customer service promises are also helping to grow our market share. This includes implementing a promise to our customers around having knowledge and trained staff,” Mr Nunn said.
Tradelink prides itself on its extensive history of 150 years within the industry. With over 200 branches currently, the group believes it has become a trusted name in plumbing supplies. Tradelink is also backed by Fletcher Building, which is a multinational business with a diverse workforce of 19,000, while manufacturing and distributing world-leading building and construction products in over 40 countries world-wide.
“Stocking a wide range of high quality products from leading manufacturers, combined with a commitment to industry leading customer service, makes Tradelink a market leader in plumbing supplies in Australia. Whether you are a professional plumber, builder, gas fitter, tradesperson or are simply in the process of getting some work done around your own home, Tradelink strives to ensure all of its customer needs are met,” he said.
The Bundaberg showroom is very much a community affair with all staff members coming from the local area, a factor Tradelink believes improves the interaction between staff and customer.
While the Tradelink brand has long been closely associated with the plumbing trade, the company also offers one of the largest ranges of bathroom, kitchen and laundry fixtures for the consumer from a wide spectrum of suppliers – including Raymor, Caroma, Dorf, Phoenix, Studio Bagno, Abey and Clark.
