Bunnings Ousts Wattyl

Bunnings has completed an eight-month range review of interior and exterior paint, woodcare, metal, pavement and spray paint that formed part of ongoing range review work undertaken across all product categories to, according to Bunnings, ensure that it “continues to deliver the best offer to customers”.

Fletcher Secures Crane

At the time of going to press, Fletcher Building had acquired more than 90 per cent of takeover target, Crane Group, saying it would move to compulsorily acquire the remaining shares. Fletcher CEO Jonathan Ling said the deal was “a game changer, like Laminex was in 2002″.

New Mitre 10 Stores

Mitre has expanded its network of more than 420 stores with new outlets in Mooroopna (Victoria), Blacktown (NSW) and Whyalla (SA). The Mooroopna and Whyalla stores operated under the Home Hardware and Timber banner, and Mitre 10 CEO Mark Laidlaw said their conversion is testament to the strength of Mitre 10’s business model.
