2019 Gyprockers Choice Awards Winners
The ‘I’m a Gyprocker Awards 2019’ have been an absolute success, with over 200 entries from CSR Gyprock contractors around Australia submitting their work and a selfie to enter this year. Over 9,000 votes were cast to award the People’s Choice winner, with the remaining winners decided by a panel of the 2018 award winners.
The campaign was created to recognise and reward the great work Australia’s craftsmen do with Gyprock’s range of products, with the aim of meeting the faces behind the hashtag. Every day customers tagged CSR Gyprock on Instagram using the #imagyprocker, with the promotion targeted to their digital channels, the competition and entries received over one million views. Each entry was shared on @csrgyprock as well as appearing on digital screens at the GTC’s – surprising customers when they entered their local stores.
The 2019 winners were crowned at the award ceremonies. Suncorp Stadium, Optus Stadium, Marvel Stadium and Bank West Stadium were chosen as the venues and over 600 customers registering for the big night to see if they were a winner.
To create a ‘money can’t buy’ experience, the Gyprockers were surprised to see their entries up on the big screen scoreboard. They also enjoyed the behind the scenes opportunity to walk onto the field itself, get a selfie in the home team’s locker rooms and even kick around Gyprock footys in the warmup area. To top it off, the Gyprocker Awards logo was also applied to all the boundary of the field.
Guests were also entertained by comedy musical trio ‘Tripod’, before Troy Green (General Manager Marketing) became the MC for the night and Andrea Pidcock (Executive General Manager LWS) congratulated the winners and awarded the trophies.
“The 2019 Gyprocker Awards returned to celebrate the industry, quality craftsmanship and the pride that plasterers take in their work. The campaign allowed us to recognise the plasterers that choose the brand every day, and make up its community,” CSR Lightweight Systems General Manager of Marketing, Troy Green said.
This year, award entrants had the opportunity to win a number of career-building prizes from CSR Gyprock and its partners. Available to the winner of the Master Craftsman categories, CSR Gyprock also gave away an incredible Business Pro Pack, arming winners with the tools to establish or grow their own business. The pack included a valuable partnership with a design industry to develop a website, flyers, signage and other collateral, along with a digital boot camp course, and a gift voucher to purchase tools or other capital items.
