Four Bunnings executives from the management team recently departed the hardware chain  in a move described as a “reshaping” rather than a restructure, an Inside Retail report has revealed.

The exiting executives include Chief Commercial Officer Ben McIntosh, Chief Transformation Officer Leah Balter, and General Manager of Corporate Affairs Maria McCarthy, while Director of Merchandise Jen Tucker left on her own accord following a family bereavement.

As part of the management changes,  Ryan Baker was appointed as Chief Operating Officer, while current CFO Rachael McVitty will take over from Mr Baker as Chief Customer Officer.

Michael Howard was also announced as the new Chief Financial Officer, transferring from Wesfarmers after a 16-year career at Officeworks.

Bunnings Managing Director Mike Schneider told the Australian Financial Review that the changes are part of a “reshaping” rather than a restructure and that it is “not a cost thing”, with the reshuffle designed to bring the commercial and customer teams closer together.
