House-Hasson Hardware has created a new leadership position – Senior Vice President of sales, growth and development – and named longtime industry veteran Jason Hanegan to fill the position, reported Hardware Retailing.

Mr Hanegan served as a consultant for House-Hasson before being approached for the new corporate role, said Steve Henry, House-Hasson president and Chief Executive Officer.

“There’s no doubt that Jason will demonstrate that we made the right decision in asking him to join House-Hasson. He is a valuable addition to our leadership team, is establishing strong personal relations with our dealers and will do a great job leading our sales and support staff,” Mr Henry said.

House-Hasson has 65 sales staff members serving dealers in 23 states as well as the Caribbean Basin. Mr Hanegan expressed his admiration for House-Hasson’s growth, longevity, and reputation for prioritizing the profitability of independent hardware and lumberyard dealers they serve.

“House-Hasson is legendary for its role as a hardware products distributor and its service to dealers,” Mr Hanegan said.

“Reflecting on what I wanted to do, and where I wanted to be, House-Hasson has it all. It is a privately held, family-owned company with 118 years of selling goods that people need and want, and it is enabling the success of independent dealers on whom their stores’ customers depend. House-Hasson is a company with a marvellous legacy and a great future. And beyond that, it does not take long to love living in east Tennessee.”

Mr Henry said Jason Hanegan has already identified a Top 20 list of initiatives focused on company performance and industry best practices, and is analyzing policies and procedures to ensure their effectiveness in serving House-Hasson’s customers. Reporting to Mr Hanegan are House-Hasson departments: sales, marketing, retail services, customer service, and strategic retail management.

“Jason has more than 20 years of experience in building and leading regional and national sales teams, business development, process improvement and change management. He has accomplished this for regional, national and international hardlines wholesalers,” Mr Henry said.

Mr Hanegan ensured that House-Hasson will be aggressive with process improvement, expansion into new markets and developing tools for its customers to be better retailers, all while maintaining its local touch.

“Everyone at House-Hasson comes to work every day with a servant mentality and is determined to be better today than we were yesterday, for our customers’ benefit,” Mr Hanagan concluded.
