Lowe’s has partnered with the United States’ largest food delivery company, DoorDash, to offer more delivery options of home improvement items to customers fast.

DoorDash announced on April 1st that the on-demand delivery aggregator will now be offering gardening tools, spring cleaning essentials, do-it-yourself supplies and other products from more than 1,700 of the home improvement retailer’s stores nationwide.

“Our partnership enables consumers with quick access to must-have tools and last-minute materials to complete projects of all sizes,” Fuad Hannon, Vice President of New Verticals at DoorDash, said in the press release.

“With Lowe’s on the marketplace, we add to the great selection of everyday essentials that consumers rely on for on-demand delivery on DoorDash.”

Lowe’s products can be purchased directly on the DoorDash app, allowing customers to shop for them along with other items from local retailers. They are also included in DoorDash’s membership program, DashPass. This means eligible orders can qualify for free delivery and a reduced service fee.

For Lowe’s, this expansion of same-day delivery options is part of the retailer’s continuing ‘omnichannel journey,’ Neelima Sharma, Senior Vice President of Digital Commerce and Technology at Lowe’s, said in the release.

“Our collaboration with DoorDash unlocks an opportunity for us to reach new DIY customers who are shopping directly on the DoorDash app, helping them get everything they need for spring,” Ms Sharma said.
