Lowe’s has announced it will donate $500,000 to continue to support relief and recovery efforts in areas of the country affected by severe weather. The donation aims to assist Lowe’s disaster relief partners, including the American Red Cross and Lowe’s nonprofit Pro customers – helping the organizations provide emergency shelter, critical relief supplies, food and comfort.

In addition to the donation, Lowe’s associates went door-to-door in Little Rock, Arkansas, Coralville, Iowa and Cape Girardeau, Missouri to pass out more than 1100 free Lowe’s buckets filled with supplies to help residents clean up after tornadoes have left widespread damage. Lowe’s associates also partnered with local emergency management officials and first responders to clean up debris and pass out other critical supplies.

In Rolling Fork, Mississippi, Lowe’s associates donated more than 700 cases of water along with more than 450 buckets filled with supplies to assist residents and first responders after a tornado damaged the small community.

The hardware company is also helping its associates by expanding financial assistance through the Lowe’s Employees Relief Fund. Lowe’s is doubling the company’s match, contributing two dollars for every one dollar an associate donates.
