Bunnings’ newest store, along with a luxury hotel is set to open in Melbourne’s outer east just before Christmas.
Construction has progressed at the multi-level Bunnings Doncaster site at 659 Doncaster Rd, next to Westfield Doncaster, with the new warehouse sitting below a luxury Mercure Hotel, that will also welcome guests next month, according to a recent Herald Sun report.
Bunnings Area Manager Craig Bleksley said recently that the new store would include familiar features such as a main retail area, timber and building materials yard, and an outdoor nursery.
“It represents an investment by Bunnings of more than $90 million and will span just over 11,000 square metres, with over 300 car parking spaces. We are excited to be creating 180 new jobs in the local community, with recruitment now complete.”
“We look forward to opening the doors and welcoming local residents to the new store, offering a wide range of home and lifestyle products, backed by great service from our team,” Mr Bleksley said in the report.
Excited guests will also soon be able to check-in at Mercure Melbourne Doncaster, with the hotel featuring 183 contemporary guest rooms along with an elite fitness centre, expansive outdoor terraces and indoor/outdoor swimming pool.
The property is expected to host functions very soon, with One2One Events to be launched on level three of the hotel, as the space offers views over the city skyline and Yarra Ranges. The Chido Bar & Cantina also feature within the hotel.
