Simpson Strong-Tie, the leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions, has announced that its Australian subsidiary has acquired the Sydney-based Australian company, KlevaKlip Systems Pty Ltd.

Owned by Greg Doupe and Stephen Sanders, KlevaKlip offers a range of patented products for deck construction. Originally set up to provide concealed fixing systems for decking materials, the company has diversified to provide products that may fill niche markets in the building products industry.

KlevaKlip’s main product categories are now made up of composite, structural connectors, adjustable deck supports and a hidden deck fastening system. These products target deck builders, enabling them to build faster and easier.

Simpson Strong-Tie General Manager – Pacific Rim, Rob Lawson said, “this acquisition enables Simpson Strong-Tie to increase its breadth of line in the Pacific Rim.”

“With the strength of Simpson Strong-Tie research, development and testing, and field service and distribution combined with KlevaKlip’s quality products, we are adding value to our new and existing deck builder customers in Australia and New Zealand,” he said.

As part of the acquisition, Doupe and Sanders will remain with the KlevaKlip team to ensure a seamless transition as Simpson Strong-Tie assumes customer sales and service.
