Cowdroy’s Gets V8 Power

When Cowdory wanted a high profile activity to increase brand awareness it found V8 Supercars the ideal match. V8 Supercars is like no other sport in Australia. It blends the athlete with the rawness of sedan car racing. With 14 rounds over a 10 months racing program in three countries, and over 70 million viewers in 25 countries, V8 Supercars gives Cowdory the brand exposure it wants. Motor racing was once an amateur sport, today V8 Supercar racing in one of the most competitive and professional sports in the world. Cowdroy felt that V8 Supercars was the medium, which best matched the challenges of business and exemplified the need for a relentless product improvement program to survive in sport and business. In 2006, the #20 PCR Ford Falcon started with a new Australian driver who had been completing in the USA, Marcus Marshall, and strong sponsorship from Glenford Tool Centres, Doric Products, Actron Air, AEG power tools and Cowdroy. Apart from a very heavy crash at over 180Kph while running 19th at Bathurst the PCR Falcon experienced a good year with continuos race improvement culminating in a 14th place finish in the finale at Phillip Island in December. In 2007, the team takes delivery of a new car built by Triple 8 Racing while staying with the ‘bullet proof’ and powerful Stone Brothers racing engines which it ran in 2005 and 2006. The team will grow to 16 full time staff and in response to fan demand will commence a merchandising program. For more information go to
