HPM And Auto-Motion Launch Racing Venture
HPM Industries and Auto-Motion have launched a new partnership to be known as HPM Racing to challenge for Supremacy in the 2007 Fujitsu V8 Supercar Development Series.
Jim Johnson, National Marketing Manager HPM, and AUTO-MOTION team owner, Aaron McGill, unveiled two fully equipped Ford V8 Supercars at Fox Studios in February.
Arguably the best V8 Supercar driver without a regular drive in 2006, Luke Youlden spearheads the two car HPM Racing team in 2007, with team owner and renowned motorsport competitor, Aaron McGill, piloting the second HPM Racing Falcon.
V8 Supercar legend, John Bowe, also joins the team in a technical role, in what is designed to give HPM Racing the all round package to take on the multitude of level one teams competing in the Development Series.
“With Luke now on board, we hope to pressure for the winners’ podium as the year unfolds. The HPM Racing programme will provide an excellent opportunity for the team to be not only competitive, but successful over the next twelve months,” explained team owner and driver Aaron McGill.
It also makes the beginning of a new partnership between HPM and new owners, Legrand Electric, to increase the power of HPM in the Australian market. “This is an exciting new partnership all round,” said Jim Johnson, HPM.
