Mitre 10 Qld Warehouse Move

After 26 years at Rocklea, Mitre 10 is set to relocate its Queensland distribution centre to a new warehouse site in Acacia Ridge. The site, which is currently occupied by Mitre 10 as the Queensland and Northern Territory Distribution Centre, has a total land area of 58,903m2, with the warehouse covering only 19 per cent or 11,267m2 of the space.

This new Acacia Ridge site will provide Mitre 10 with a warehouse and office space of 28,000m2, significantly increasing Mitre 10’s storage capabilities. This new facility will also improve the efficiency of new product being delivered to Mitre 10 stores with more stock available for distribution at any time.

Following the sale of the Rocklea property, Mitre 10 will lease back the existing building and hardstand areas until mid-2008. During this leasing time, Mitre 10 will transfer its entire warehouse operations in stages from the Rocklea site to the facility in Acacia Ridge.

“Over the past few years, Mitre 10 has placed great emphasis on ensuring we have the processes in place so that stock is delivered to stores in the minimum amount of time. This relocation ensures we can continue to achieve this goal,” said Andrew Henderson, National Property Development Manager.
