Gateway Mitre 10 Donates $10,000

Demonstrating a true commitment to community service, Gateway Mitre 10 Home and Trade has been donating a percentage of each sale to raise funds for the local hospital since July 2007.

A telemetry unit and a portable vital signs monitor valued at $3,000 were donated by Gateway Mitre 10 Home and Trade earlier in the year. The CTG telemetry unit allows expectant mothers to be mobile during labour but still have continuous foetal monitoring resulting in fewer complications during birth.

Chief Executive Officer, Mt Gambier Health and District Services, David Walshaw is grateful for the support from Gateway Mitre 10 Home and Trade. “The CTG telemetry unit is a wonderful addition to our facilities and will significantly help expecting mothers during pregnancy,” Mr Walshaw said.

“Gateway Mitre 10 Home and Trade have supported us immensely and have become an integral part of providing our patients with up-to-date equipment.”

Gateway Mitre 10 Home and Trade raised the $10,000 in just over four months and will continue to roll out the fundraising campaign in 2008.

By mid 2008, Gateway Mitre 10 Home and Trade aims to raise a total $20,000 for Mt Gambier District and Health Services, which means more vital hospital equipment can be purchased.
