Accredited Training Just For Hardware!
For the last eighteen months Boulevard Business Services have quietly worked on a Victorian accredited training pilot project specifically designed for hardware stores.
Around 40 students have covered SIR30207 Certificate III in retail and SIR40207 Certificate IV in retail management via Swinburne University’s TAFE division. The program is broadly aimed at the independent sector having so far worked with students from Home Timber & Hardware stores as well as Mitre 10 stores including Horsham, Stawell and Colac.
The majority of students who participated in the pilot project have also successfully accessed traineeships via the Federal Government. This translates into financial assistance to the value of up $4,000. The amount is payable to employers and applies to students who fit Federal Government criteria.
The program is run by Gary Harkin, who has 42 years of industry experience working with suppliers and retailers. It will be launched nationally at the Danks Conference in Melbourne this month.
