Hardware Association of Victoria (HAV) awards

Melissa King, sponsored by Seasol, commanded the undivided attention as master of ceremonies. The evening’s program acknowledged and rewarded the various categories for their pursuit of excellence in customer service, diversity and business strategies amongst the Victorian hardware sector. Store of the Year, was judged based on performance on customer excellence, innovation and their business strategy to strive to be employers of choice. This year, there was a phenomenal amount of nominations for this category. Congratulations are in order for the following winners:

Young Retailer of the Year, sponsored by the Journal was attained by Mark Symons of Total Tools Pakenham. This award acknowledged Mark’s demonstration of developed skills, driving passion and spirit of young people working in hardware retail.
Representative of the Year sponsored by ASSA ABLOY was awarded to Alan Cook from Selleys for his exemplary performance in service and support through his business dealings.
Employee of the Year sponsored by A Team Merchandising was awarded to Sherrie Abel from Drouin Home Timber for her achievements, skills and spirited work ethics. Her inspiration to fellow staff members and younger workers in striving for excellence in their careers was commendable. With another celebratory evening accomplished, the HAV looks forward to industry participation and support for their 2013 calendar of events. This includes the HAV golf day, luncheon dates, annual awards gala as well as some additional activities that will promote our dynamic industry and offer essential vehicles for networking.
