AIS Launch 850 Page Product Guide
Australian Industrial Supplies (AIS) recently launched their 850 page ‘AIS Product Guide’ product catalogue. The guide contains products and information from suppliers from across Australia and is the result of an ongoing partnership between AIS members and the AIS partnering suppliers program.
A good 12 months of development went into the guide, which would not have been possible without the support of the AIS board of directors, staff, shareholders and of course AIS suppliers.
The catalogue contains more than 7,000 products and is intended to demonstrate to customers the comprehensive range of products available from AIS stores. The group currently publishes a smaller quarterly catalogue that usually features about 300 products per issue.
The AIS group was founded in February 1997 by regional Victorian stores seeking to compete more effectively. The group enjoyed rapid expansion and is today made up entirely of independent members who take advantage of their combined expenditure and purchasing power while staying true to their independence.
“AIS are a true independent organization where we value the independence of the individual member,” says Group Manager Mario Trimarchi. “However, the AIS brand is only as strong the names of our members. What we do is add national marketing tools to add value. For example, through a strong emphasis on local area marketing that preserves the member’s independence.”
In their 12 year existence AIS have grown from a dozen stores and a handful of suppliers to 112 stores and 137 national suppliers. The AIS Product Guide is one of several innovations as the group has undergone significant changes over the past 18 months.
