HPM 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel Ceiling Fan

El Niño is officially upon Australia, bringing extreme weather and hot, dry summer days. But that does not mean outdoor areas have to be hot as well. HPM is a brand of Legrand, the global specialist in products and systems for electrical installations and digital building infrastructures, and has recently launched a new fan to keep Aussies cool in summer.

These ceiling fans are warriors for the tropics or any coastal town where the sweat factor is high and corrosion is rampant. With a scorching hot and dry summer predicted ahead, investing in the marine grade 316 stainless steel ceiling fan will save the hassle and cost of replacing inferior alternatives down the track, while also keeping those indoor and outdoor areas cool.

“The HPM 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel Ceiling Fan is perfect for homes in coastal areas and suitable for use in alfresco dining spaces. All exposed components are made of 316 marine-grade stainless steel which ensures total resistance to harsh environments (e.g. humidity or salinity),” says Jason Neophytou, Marketing Communications and Advertising Manager for Legrand.

The fans are highly adaptable, with easy adjustability to switch between seasons and save energy all year round. Summer mode means the fan operates by rotating anti-clockwise to push cool air down and pull warm air up, creating a wind chill effect of the air moving around the home.

The winter mode means the fan operates in reverse by rotating clockwise to pull cool air up and push warm air down, allowing for warm air to be redistributed in the room saving heating running costs.

“All of our ceiling fans come equipped with a simple toggle switch so it is easy to switch between summer mode for the warmer months and winter mode for the cooler months. This optimises the fan’s performance and increases comfort.”

“In the warmer months, you want the blades to rotate clockwise to push cool air down. This creates a wind chill effect and evaporates perspiration from the skin to keep everyone comfortable in humid weather,” Mr Neophytou says.

The fan’s plated finish makes it tough, durable as well as easy to clean. Thanks to heavy-duty sealed bearings the fan has low noise and increased longevity. Maximum airflow enables optimal cooling whilst maintaining quiet operation combined with blades that are designed to be silent.

These fans also come with a three-year warranty, with their body, blades, screws and brackets all made from 316 marine-grade stainless steel for the best corrosion resistance. The three quickfit blades and lightweight design (5.4 kilograms) make it as sleek as it is durable.
